Field Guide to Grasshoppers, Katydids, and Crickets of the United States
A typical Trimerotropis species. Grayish or brownish, with two distinct dark bands on the forewings. Hind wing is yellow basally and bears a narrow black band centrally. Hind tibiae are reddish or orange. A distinguishing character is the presence of a small extension or tooth on the lower posterior margin of the lateral lobe of the pronotum. Males are 25-35 mm long, females 30-43 mm.
