Field Guide to Grasshoppers, Katydids, and Crickets of the United States
Light gray to dark grayish brown, with numerous small brown speckles over most of the body and weakly to strongly marked wide transverse bands on the forewings. Hind wings are pale yellow basally and marked with a curved black transverse band centrally. Tip of the hind wing is transparent. Central ridge on the pronotum is barely elevated. Outer face of the hind femora is gray and brown, with only weak evidence of bands. Inner face, however, is pale yellow with three black bands. Hind tibiae are yellow to red. Males are 29-33 mm long, females 30-40 mm.
