Field Guide to Grasshoppers, Katydids, and Crickets of the United States
As suggested by its name, a diagnostic character of this species is the enlarged tips of the antennae. This species is green or brown in color. Ridges of the dorsum of the pronotum are strongly constricted in front of the midpoint. In males, the wings are about the same length as the abdomen, whereas in females the wings are shorter, about half the length of the abdomen. Abdomen is marked on the sides with a dark spot on each segment. Hind tibiae are yellow to brown. Males are 16-20 mm long, females 18-25 mm.
