Length: male, % in.; female, % in.; hind tibiae normally rich pink, rarely buffy; wing pads small, oval, well separated. Adults, July to September. Inhabits small openings in fir-aspen forests and mountain meadows in the Canadian Zone. Supplants femur-nigrum in the higher elevations of the Mogollon Plateau; generally above 9,000 feet from Bill Williams Mountain (Hebard) and San Francisco Mountain (type), southeast to Showlow, Springerville, and Alpine.
