Length: male, 1 in.; female, 1 1/8 in.; dark; fore wings with five to seven dark markings; dorsal surface of head and pronotum with high ridges forming five pits on the head; lateral lobes of pronotum only slightly produced; hind wing with yellow disc and a black band; hind tibiae buff colored. Eggs average eight per pod; adults, June to August.
