Field Guide to Grasshoppers, Katydids, and Crickets of the United States
An attractive, uniformly colored grasshopper. Normally, it is grass green, though some individuals are tinged with red or purple. It is heavy-bodied. Antennae are red. Pronotum is roughly sculptured and has a pinkish or reddish stripe on the top. Forewings usually are shorter than the abdomen. Hind tibiae are green. Males are 20-26 mm long, females 28-37 mm.
